West Eaton (7 Nov 1918)

Mrs. Oznich called on Mrs. Podobnik Sunday afternoon.

Lou Dimeler called at Bostwick’s Monday morning.

We are glad to report that Carl Davey is some better at this writing. We hope to see Carl around soon.

Jason Bostwick called at Borgers Sunday evening.

Mrs. A. Lenher received word Monday that her youngest brother had died, a victim of influenza, at his home in Blanchardville.

H. Bostwick delivered chickens to John Stanton Thursday.

John Schmidt came back Wednesday, after spending a few weeks with his folks in Peoria, Ill., and is now at the Davey home helping with the work until Carl and the rest are able to get around. We are glad Mr. Schmidt will stay as Mr. Davey’s people certainly have had a trying time with sickness.

Mrs. Borgers will return to her home after caring for the sick at Davey’s, feeling that she has been well paid for her work since Carl is much better,

Mr. Podobnik is helping Mr. Ozanich blast stumps.

George Gemmeke is digging rock for a new barn in the near future.
