East Lynn (7 Nov 1918)

Emroy Albrecht left last Friday for Appleton to take a two years’ course in the Bushay Business College.

Fred Hanke finished threshing in this vicinity last week.

Will Guk, who has been ill for the past year, is not improving very fast.

Will Langere, who was drafted into the army a few months ago, died at one of the military camps, of influenza last week and his body will be sent home for burial. He leaves his wife, father, two brothers, and one sister to mourn his untimely death. Another bright young man gave his life for his country.

Chas. Guk, who expects to be called in the next draft, was practicing Sunday with a long-ranged gun. He drove all of his livestock into the barn and then bombarded an old barrel at a distance of 11 yards. Out of 125 shots he made three hits. Good shooting, Chas., you can shoot the kaiser when they get him hogtied.
