Pollnow, Louis (Death from Pneumonia – 14 Nov 1918)
Louis Pollnow is another soldier from this vicinity who has made the Supreme
Sacrifice, his parents having received a letter on Friday announcing his death
in a hospital in England from pneumonia. Louis was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Pollnow of town Hewett and was called into the army in July, going to Camp
Grant. It is evident that he had but recently gone across and after landing in
England had been taken to a hospital there. It is hoped that more details of the
death of this very estimable young man may be received for publication next
week.
