Kapka, Clara (Kurth) (22 FEB 1886 – 1 Nov 1918)
Clara, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kurth, was born at Black River Falls on
Feb. 22, 1886, and came to Neillsville with her parents shortly after birth. She
made this city her home for practically all her life and was united in marriage
to Charles Kapka on March 10, 1904. One daughter, Marie, was born to them, and
who, with her father, remains to mourn the loss of a kind and thoughtful wife
and mother. Mrs. Kapka was of a genial and pleasant disposition and her
personality attracted to her many very sincere friends who were deeply shocked
to learn of her death which occurred at Stockton, Cal., on Nov. 1st. With her
daughter she had gone to California on March 10, 1918, and was a victim of
Spanish influenza. Her funeral occurred at Stockton on Nov. 7th. Mrs. Kapka is
also survived by her mother and sisters, Mrs. I.H. Lowe of Neillsville, Mrs.
Rudolph Neverman of Fresno, Cal.; Mrs. C.G. Berlin and Mrs. Everett Kelly of
Stockton. Also by one son brother, Arthur, who is in the army. Mrs. Kapka was a
member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge of this city.
