Batz, Ethel J. (Cary) (23 NOV 1922 - 11 SEP 2015)

Ethel J. Batz, 92, of Milton, WI died peacefully Friday September 11, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Manor Footville, WI.

She was born November 23, 1922 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of the late John and Cosette (Hickock) Cary. Ethel was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Batz on December 28, 1940 in Illinois. Ken died in January of 2004.

Ethel owned and operated and taught ceramics at her pottery shop in Withee and Mercer, WI for over 15 years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church of Janesville, WI, and a former member of the Withee Lioness Club. Ethel most enjoyed her trip to Mexico to help fit eye glasses with the Lion's Club.

Ethel was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Ethel is survived by her four children: Linda Batz of Janesville, WI; Kenneth Batz of Lake Placid, FL; Dennis (Sherry Ruff) Batz of Bloomer, WI; and Carolyn "Sue" Haskins of Janesville, WI, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, and by a host of other relatives and friends.

Ethel was preceded in death by parents; husband Kenneth of 63 years, son, Elmer; two great-grandchildren, Aundray and Zoey; two sisters: Corrine Edwards Earle and Ada Newman; one brother; Wayne Cory.

Memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday September 18, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 2940 Mineral Point Ave. Janesville, WI with Pastor Cory Rajek officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater, WI.

Visitation will be Friday at the Church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Memorials may be made in Ethel's name to St. Elizabeth Manor 111 Commercial Drive, Footville, WI 53537.
