Granton (21 February 1974)

A 12:30 p.m. potluck dinner Sunday at the Granton United Methodist Church will welcome the Rev. and Mrs. William Noble and family to the congregation. The Noble recently succeeded the Rev. Melvin Nickel as pastor of the Neillsville and Granton parishes.

World Day of Prayer will be observed Friday afternoon March 1, at the York Center United Methodist Church. Ladies of the loyal United Methodist Church have been invited to join in the observance, which has been planned by ladies of the York Center Church. A coffee fellowship will follow the program.

Mr. and Mrs. William Weichelt and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Helm were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Mamie Riedel in the Town of Lynn.

Mrs. Dorothy Breedlove and daughter arrived by plane at Mosinee Monday to spend a week at the Harold Schlinsog home and at the Walter Zahnow home in Neillsville. Mrs. Breedlove, who is an airline stewardess, is a nice of the Schlinsogs and the Zahnows. She and her daughter are enroute home to Anchorage, Ak, after spending a month visiting in Africa.

Family night will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. at the York Center United Methodist Church. An illustrated program on Greece will be followed by a lunch.

Donald Helm of Marion spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm. Dinner guests at the Helm home Sunday also included Mr. and Mrs. Roger Helm and family.

Mrs. Marie Hanson and sons of Marshfield spent an afternoon with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hoeft, during the weekend.

The Rev. and Mrs. Dale Trimberger and family of Marshfield spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Trimberger.

New York Homemakers treated their husbands to a Valentine’s party at Bali Hai supper club.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fero drove to Phillips Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Pete Montgomery.

Mrs. Bert Hayden, a longtime resident, and her daughter, Mrs. Fred Steinich, moved into their new home in Neillsville over the weekend. The Dale Larsons have moved into the former Hayden home, which they purchased recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Manford Cain entertained the King’s Couples’ club of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Chili last Tuesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Vanderwyst were dinner and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Kademan in Eau Claire Sunday.

Granton Homemakers met Thursday with Mrs. Louis Helm for a Valentine’s day party. Following the business meeting, games were played and a lunch was served by the hostess. Mrs. Ottelia Hoeft was a guest.

Granton Rotarians treated their wives to a Valentine’s dinner Satruday evening at the Wildcat Inn.

The York Center community club met Friday evening with Mrs. Ray Mortimer in Loyal.
