Michlig, Anthony “Tony” F. (25 JUL 1940 - 3 AUG 2015)

Anthony “Tony” F. Michlig, age 75, of Edgar was welcomed into heaven on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, after a long battle with health issues.

Tony was born July 25, 1940, in the town of Cassel, the son of the late Frank and Delaphine (Nowak) Michlig. He married Rosalie Lang on Aug. 5, 1961, at St. Patrick’s Parish, Halder.

As a young boy, he played the drums for the family band “The Wisconsin Oilers.” Tony farmed for much of his life and in 1979 he began growing ginseng, which he enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed going for breakfast, socializing, playing cards with neighbors and friends, deer hunting, gardening and was active within the church. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Tony is survived his wife, Rosalie; his four children, Bryan Michlig, Keith (Angie) Michlig, Linda (Kevin) Kulas and Bonnie Michlig; his grandchildren, Sonya (Mike) Green, Becky (David) Wright, Melanie Kulas, Rachael (Joe) Schimmels, Tim (Tatjana) Michlig and Rakel and Katrina Mata. Tony is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Frances (Norbert) Lang and Evelyn (Jerome) Schara; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leo.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Halder. The Rev. Felix Tigoy presided with Rev. Jerome Patric concelebrating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends were invited to gather on Thursday at the church in Halder from 4-8 p.m. and again on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. A parish rosary service was held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Life Tributes Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family.
