Humbird (28 February 1974)
Good morning, sunny, cold, but when the sun shines, all is well!
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Blom and children of price and Mrs. Laura Dignin were dinner
and afternoon guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Sieg.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duerkop were visitors Sunday afternoon at the home of her
mother, Mrs. Ida Holman in Osseo.
Mrs. Jim Trachsel was taken to the Neillsville Memorial Hospital Friday where
she will be for a few days undergoing tests.
Mrs. Anita Markham was a dinner guests Sunday at the A. L. Kirby home.
The Happy Hour Homemakers Club met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Emma
Gerber with a good attendance considering the weather. Two new members were
welcomes, Mrs. Harold Holman and Mrs. Richard Cooper. Mrs. Carl Kyllonen gave
the lesson.
Mrs. Beatrice Lang called at the Perle Pickett home Friday afternoon.
Alton Duerkop accompanied a group of the American choral directors association,
to Des Moines, Ia., recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Schweinler of Elroy drove up Monday to spend the day with
her mother, Mrs. Frieda Zerbel.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Polege spent a long weekend at the Willis Johnson home in
Appleton.
Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice spent Wednesday and Thursday at their home here and
reports that Mr. Fitzmaurice is gaining slowly and can walk some with the aid of
a walker.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Larson of Augusta were visitors Thursday at the Hugh Terrell
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Breheim of Merrillan were visitors Wednesday evening at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett.
Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Parent and Steven drove to Thorp Saturday to have dinner
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pirl Burrington. Later they attended the
reception in honor of her brother’s wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burrington, at
the home of their uncle, the Rev. Harold Palmer.
Mrs. Johanna Olson and Mrs. Beatrice Lang were dinner and supper guests Sunday
at the Alan Zimmerman home in Fairchild.
Mrs. John Lein and two boys of Hixton were visitors Saturday at the home of Mrs.
Johanna Olson.
Julie, Caudi and Kathryn Burnett were overnight guests Saturday at the home of
their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett.
A group of guitar players, Mr. and Mrs. Burrington of Gilman, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Brian, Mr. and Mrs. Don Eisberner and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Arnold met Monday and
Saturday night at the DeWayne Parent home for an evening of music and fun.
