The Wallace C. Hitchcock Memorial Award was given for the second consecutive
year to Bryce Luchterhand. The Dean of Academic affairs, Roy Hoover, told the
awards day commemoration of Northland College that it was somewhat unusual to
give this award twice to the same student, but that Bryce had eared it for his
unselfish service to the college and surrounding community.
This award was set up by the Hitchcock family in memory of their son. It is
given each year to a student of Northland College on the basis of citizenship,
scholarship, and service to the community. The Award consists of a Special Honor
Certificate and a sum of money.
Bryce was one of twenty seniors selected to membership in the "Dean's Hall of
Recognition of Northland College"
Bryce was also selected for listing in the "International Who's Who" among
Colleges and Universities." At present he is listed in the American Who's Who
among Colleges and Universities.
Bryce is a senior at Northland College. At present he is at home running the
family farm while his father is convalescing from surgery.
Bryce is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Luchterhand of Unity, Wisconsin.
