Schneider, Jerome “Jerry” E. (9 March 1939 - 10 September 2015)
Jerome “Jerry” E. Schneider, 76, of Black River Falls passed away Thursday,
Sept. 10, 2015, at Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls and while under the
care of Black River Memorial Hospice. He was born March 9, 1939, in Florence
County, Wisconsin, to Henry and Agnes (Neuens) Schneider.
Jerry was raised in Kingsford, MI, and was a graduate of Kingsford High School.
Following high school, he joined the United States Coast Guard. Jerry was
honorably released in 1962, after being with them for four years. He was united
in marriage to Dara Stanclift Oct. 10, 1959, in Kingsford, MI. Jerry was a
member of the United Church of God in La Crosse.
Jerry lived in various locations, including Sturgeon Bay, Algoma, West DePere
and Escanaba, MI, for several years, before settling down in Black River Falls
in 1973. He worked as a diesel mechanic for White Auto Car of DePere, Clairemont
Transfer of DePere and Escanaba, and Power Brake of Black River Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Dara; daughters: Dawn (Sherwin) Flood of Merrillan,
and Peggy (John) Yule of Alma Center; sons: Andrew (Cindy) Schneider of
Neillsville, James (Shara) Schneider and Peter (Robin) Schneider, both of
Springtown, TX; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes; sister, Audrey; and
brothers: David and Bill.
A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the Black
River Falls American Legion Post. Burial will be held at a later date.
Family and friends were invited for a time of gathering Sunday, from 2:30 p.m.
until the time of the service at the American Legion.
Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls assisted the family with arrangements.
