The Rev. John D. Langholz, who now resides at 1026 Garfield Ave., Sheldon, Iowa, will be honored on the fiftieth anniversary of his ordination on Sunday, June 28, 1970. A service of thanksgiving will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sheldon, at 2 p.m. and an open house will follow in the fellowship hall of the church until 5 p.m. The public is cordially invited to join in these events of the day.

The Rev. Langholz was graduated from St. Paul Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., with the class of 1920, at Lamberton, Minn., the parish of his late father, the Rev. Christian Langholz.

During his years of active ministry, the Rev. Langholz served parishes in Yorkville, Ill.; Wamego, Kansas; Ladysmith, Wis., Loyal, Wis.; and Thornton, Iowa. He retired and moved to Sheldon in 1961. Since that time he has served as supply and interim pastor of congregations in the vicinity. Presently he is interim pastor of the Paulina-Primghar congregations.

The Rev. Langholz was married to Frances Meske at Akron, Iowa, and is the father of two daughters, Mrs. Victory (Frances) Schulz of Sheldon Iowa, and Mrs. Orin (Eunice) Grube of Osage, Iowa.
