Jagielo, Janice Estelle (20 JUN 1970)
Saturday, June 20, 1970 was the day chosen by Miss Janice Estelle Jagielo and
Sgt. Michael James Prior for their marriage.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jagielo, Rt. 2, Pittsville, and
Mr. and Mrs. Robert K. Prior, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).
The nuptial ceremony was performed in St. Joachim's Catholic Church, Pittsville,
at 1:00 in the afternoon by the church's pastor, the Rev. John Hodges, assisted
by the Rev. Conrad Mickelson, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Loyal.
The church choir sang and Larry Juebl was organist.
Miss Jagielo was escorted to the altar by her father. She was wearing a
Victorian style gown of organza and peau d'ange with a chapel train and a French
illusion veil secured to a headpiece of lace leaves, pearls and aurora borealis
crystals. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow sweetheart roses and white
pixie carnations with accents of glacier ivy and white velvet leaves.
Preceding her into the church were her aids, Miss Barba Adun, Pittsville, maid
of honor, and Miss Diane Franke, Marshfield, and Miss Judy Ziemendorf,
Pittsville, the bridesmaids. They were wearing floor length gowns of yellow
georgette and white lace and large picture hats. Each carried a basket of
daisies, carnations, baby's breath and fernery.
Scott Prior and Tom Collins, Loyal, and Edward Jagielo, Pittsville attended the
groom. Norbert Lavey, Nekoosa, and Robert Montag, Port Edwards, ushered.
Wedding day festivities included an afternoon reception and dinner at the
American Legion Hall in Pittsville, where there was dancing from 7 – 11 in the
evening.
Mrs. Prior graduated in 1968 from Pittsville High School and attended the
University of Wisconsin, Wood County Campus, for a year before accepting
employment by the Shopko Corp., at Wis. Rapids.
Mr. Prior is a 1967 graduate of Loyal High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air
Force in January, 1968, and has just completed a year's duty in Vietnam.
The young couple will live in Mississippi, where Sgt. Prior will be stationed at
Columbus Air Force Base.
