Collins, Nathan Michael (14 November 1977 - 1 October 2015)
Nathan Collins, 37, of Neillsville, formerly of Danville, IL, died Thursday,
Oct. 1, 2015.
Nathan Michael Collins was born Nov. 14, 1977, in Downey, CA. He graduated from
Westville High School in Westville, IL. He was united in marriage to Salina
Vascura July 11, 1997, in Danville, IL. Nathan worked as a truck driver for many
years. In 2008, the year they moved from Danville to the Minnesota and Wisconsin
area, he began working for the Canadian National Railroad. He worked his way up
from conductor to yard master, to, most recently, engineer.
Nathan was a member of the BLET union - the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineer
Trainmen. He enjoyed doing yard work and keeping the yard well groomed. But he
mostly enjoyed his time with his family, extended family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Salina; three children: Brandon Collins of
Neillsville, Emily Collins of Columbus, OH, and Kassidy Collins of Neillsville;
11 siblings: Kara Woods of Clayton, Luke (Laycia) Dynes of Hermiston, OR, Mia
Woods of Potomac, IL, Greg Swaim Jr., of Oregon, Misty (Jared) Cota of Sidell,
IL, Michael Lenover of Danville, IL, Eliza Lenover of Waupaca, Jessica Lenover
of Danville, IL, Houston Lenover of Hermiston, OR, Destiny Lenover of Danville,
IL, and Rachel Duckworth of Hermiston, OR. Nathan is also survived by many
nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Natalie Collins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Collins, and two brothers, Shawn
Woods and Darrell Lenover Jr.
A graveside service for Nathan will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015,
at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville, IL. Visitation in Neillsville took
place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at the Gesche Funeral Home.
Casket bearers are Brandon Collins, Luke Dynes, Jared Cota, Jerry Ricketts,
Michael Vascura and Mike Hodgson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in the name of
Nathan Collins to the Co-op Credit Union, 100 East Main St. Black River Falls,
WI, 54615.
