Bremer, Elwood "Bud" (8 SEP 1915 – 7 JUL 1970)

Funeral services were held Friday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, for Elwood "Bud" Bremer, 54, who passed away July 7, 1970 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Rev. N.E. King officiated at the services, with burial in the parish cemetery.

Elwood "Bud" Bremer was born Sept. 8, 1915 at Oeheyedan, Iowa. He came to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) at the age of 4 with his parents and has resided her his entire lifetime.

On July 29, 1941 he was married to Cecelia Scherer at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. The Bremers farmed in Loyal Township. In 1949 Mr. Bremer started the Bremer Construction Company.

Mr. Bremer was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a member of the Elks Lodge, and also an honorary member of the Fire Department.

A PCCW Rosary was held at 3 p.m. on Thursday. A lodge service was held at the Elks Club on Thursday evening at 8 p.m., with a parish service at 9 p.m. at the Roycraft Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Cecelia; a son, Bruce, 2 daughters, Mrs. LaMonte (Bonnie) Johnston, Spring Green, Wis., and Brenda at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. May Bremer, a sister, Mrs. Florence Haas, and 3 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bill Kavanaugh, Richard Martens, Steve Brussow, Tom Lindner, Vincent Lindner and Romaine Rossow.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Loyal Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his father.
