On Saturday, July 18, 1970, at 1:00 p.m., Miss Wendy Alyne Gardner, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Vern Gardner of Rt. 1, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the
bride of Mr. Bruce Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Heck of Rt. 1, Greenwood,
at the United Methodist Church in Loyal.
Officiating at the ceremony was Rev. Conrad Mickelson. The bride was given in
marriage by her father.
Organist for the wedding was Michael Tucker of Loyal, and the soloists were Mrs.
Donald Ellingson of La Crosse and Mr. William Chambers of Loyal.
The bride's gown consisted of a floor length Empire A-line skirt of nylon
chiffon over taffeta. The standup collar, puffed sleeves and caged overskirt
were trimmed with venice trim. She had a chapel train and her fingertip veil was
attached to a headpiece that matched the dress trim. She carried a bouquet of
white daisies with yellow centers and yellow roses entwined with ivy.
Mrs. Miller's maid of honor was Miss Linda Saibold of Neillsville, and her
bridesmaid was Miss Kathy Gardner of Rt. 1, Greenwood. The attendants attire
consisted of identical muline gowns of nylon chiffon over taffeta. The sleeves,
collar, empire waist and caged overskirt were trimmed with daisies. Their
headpieces matched the bride's and they carried baskets of white daisies with
yellow centers and miniature yellow carnations.
Flower girl for the ceremony was Trixie Gaye Anderegg, and ring bearer was Kip
Hoagland.
The best man was Mr. Gary Kind of Marshfield, and the groomsman was Mr. Arden
Giesler of Greenwood. Ushers were Roddy Gardner and Ben Heck.
A wedding reception was held at the bride's home and dinner followed at the
United Methodist Church at 4:00. There was a dance at the home of the bride in
the evening.
The bride is a 1969 graduate of Loyal High School and will be a sophomore at the
University of Wisconsin in Madison this fall. She is employed at the Marshfield
Convalescent Home.
Her husband is a 1967 graduate of Greenwood High School and will be a senior at
the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He is presently employed by
Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline Company.
After a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin, the couple will reside at 409 W.
Fifth St. in Marshfield. In the fall they will live at 2009 Kipling Drive,
Madison.
