Mrs. Jeanne Thompson and sons Scotty and Wayne of Loyal had supper with Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Kurz and family on Wednesday evening.
Fern Horn has completed her summer work at the University in Stevens Point and
intends to teach at the University in Illinois for a month. She is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Horn.
Miss Judith Brownson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brownson of Milwaukee,
was wed to Donald Subke, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Subke of Neillsville, at the
United Church of Christ in Neillsville on July 8, 1970 at 11 a.m. She graduated
from Spencer High School in 1967 (she lived several years with Mr. and Mrs.
Shorty Dalke) and the P.M.I.T. of Milwaukee, and is employed as a RN at Memorial
Home in Neillsville. Judy and her new husband will live at Rt. 2, Neillsville.
Spencer Legion Auxiliary meeting ws held at the Elmer Horn home on Tuesday
afternoon.
Mrs. Mary Redig had a household party on Friday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz visited on Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kowalk.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Stevens visited with Mr. and Mrs. Art Falk of Neillsville on
Wednesday. Later they visited Mrs. Stella Stevens of Loyal, who is a flu patient
at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Jon Fisher spent some time up north this past week fishing and
resting, while Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fisher did the chores.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Metcalfe and granddaughter, Dawn Metecalfe, took Allan and
Elaine Metcalfe back to their home in Chicago over the weekend and brought back
Mary Joe and Lee Metcalfe to spend a couple of weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Stevens were Thursday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Andy
Balciar and Brenda, of Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz and children were host and hostess for a family picnic
for Amway distributors and their sponsors, with families from Stanley, Boyd and
Oregon on Sunday at Mead Dam.
Children of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Dietsche spent part of friend with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dietsche.
Mrs. Frank Dietsche stopped at the Henry Kurz home on Monday morning.
The following people stopped with gifts to help Allan Redig celebrate his 9th
birthday on Saturday: Mrs. Robert Waldhauser and children, Mrs. Wallace Bauer
and children, Mrs. Marvin Dietsche and Sharon Redig, and Corey, Raymond and
Lorena Kurz, Christopher Mercer and Karen Turville.
