Apfelbeck, Peter (19 SEP 1882 – 21 NOV 1967)
Funeral services for Peter J. Apfelbeck, 85, Colby, were held Friday at 10:30
a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby.
Mr. Apfelbeck died unexpectedly at his home at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1967.
Father John B. Pinion, pastor os St. Mary's officiated at the rites, and burial
was made in the parish cemetery. A general rosary service was held Thursday
evening at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, followed by a rosary service
conducted by the Catholic Order of Foresters of St. Mary's.
Six nephews were pallbearers. They were James, Arvin, Joseph, Andrew, Claude and
Leo Apfelbeck.
Peter J. Apfelbeck was born in the Town of Hull (Marathon Co., Wis.) Sept. 19,
1882. He farmed in the area until 1920, when he moved to Colby. He was employed
by the railroad,a dn worked as a carpenter. He was not married.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish, Colby, and the Catholic Order of
Foresters.
Survivors include five brothers, Leo, carl, Ben and Albert, all of Colby, and
Ernest of Abbotsford, and two sisters, Mrs. Norbert Schraufnagel and Mrs. Peter
Thorn, both of Colby.
A sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
