Statz, Cathy (Marriage - 9 March1974)
St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Middleton, was the setting for the March 9 wedding
of Miss Cathy Statz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Statz of Rt. 3,
Neillsville, and Stan Hellenbrand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Hellenbrand,
Rt. 1 Middleton. Monsignor Brianes officiated at the 12:30 p.m. ceremony, which
was followed by a reception at the Dorf House, Roxbery.
The bride appeared in a gown of satin organza highlighted by imported English
lace trim. The lace bodice featured satin ribbon trim at the waistline, a high
neckline and bishop sleeves. Accordion pleating formed the hemline. A Juliet cap
headpiece caught her silk illusion veil which flowed to form a lace-edged
cathedral train. She carried a heart-shaped arrangement of red and white and
pink carnations, as she was presented in marriage by her father.
Renee Rendmeister, Marshfield, served as honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Joan
Statz, Diane Hellenbrand of Middleton, Ruth Dahl of Oshkosh and Jan Path of
Middleton. Their rose-printed gowns in shades of yellow, orange, blue, pink and
green, respectively, were fashioned with wide cotton lace trim. Hats matched the
hues of the dresses and bouquets included white and matching-colored carnations.
Michael Statz acted as bestman, and Harley Marks of Dane, Tom Mitchell of
Middleton. Bob Ripp of Cross Plains and Rich Hellenbrand of Middleton, as
groomsmen. Guests were seated by Roger Hellenbrand, Middleton, and William
Statz.
The former Miss Statz was honored at pre-nuptial showers given by Mrs. Edmund
Statz, Diane Hellenbrand and by her co-workers at the Veteran’s Administration
Hospital, Madison.
She is a graduate of Neillsville High School and of Western Wisconsin Technical
Institute, La Crosse. Her husband graduated from Middleton High School and
served in the United States Air Force until 1972. He is also employed at the VA
Hospital.
The newlyweds are making their home in Apartment 5, 6315 Century Ave. Middleton.
