Blasel, Elmer G. (11 MAY 1927 - 7 OCT 2015)
Former town of Little Black resident, Elmer G. Blasel, 88, died Wednesday, Oct.
7 at Aspirus Care and Rehab, Medford where he resided for the past three years.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at Zion
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stetsonville with Rev. James Babler officiating.
Burial will take place at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Stetsonville. His
grandsons Matthew Stahl, Jayson Blasel, Peter Blasel, Michael Tlusty, Jeremy
Blasel and Nicholas Blasel will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 9 at Hemer Funeral
Home, Medford, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at
the church.
Elmer Blasel was born on May 11, 1927 in the town of Deer Creek to Edwin R. and
Hattie (Korth) Blasel. He attended Stetsonville Elementary School, and graduated
from Medford High School in 1945. He married Ilaine P. Brink on June 9, 1951 at
Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville.
After his education, he worked at Peterson Construction. He then farmed in the
town of Little Black for many years, retiring in 2008. While farming he worked
at Eggert Lime Company for a period of time. He enjoyed farm auctions, playing
cards, traveling, and farming. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran
Church, where he served on the Church Council for a period of time.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan (James) Stahl of
Winneconne, David (Betty) Blasel of Stetsonville, Jeanne (David) Tlusty of
Deerbrook, Peggy Blasel of Stetsonville, and Dennis (Amy) Blasel of Medford; 16
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his
stepmother, Leona Blasel of Stetsonville; sisters, Edna Porter of Plover,
Florence Jarvis of Menomonee Falls, Arlene (Harvey) Dassow of Wauwatosa;
half-sisters, Alice (Don) Nelson of Stevens Point, Doris (Bruce) Dietze of
Medford; and a half-brother, Allen (Sue) Blasel of Plymouth.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother in infancy,
Chester Blasel and a sister, Norma Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family of Elmer G.
Blasel, for a future designation.
