Kaat, Betty Jane (Fleck) (28 JUL 1931 - 8 OCT 2015)

Betty Jane Kaat, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her residence with her family and under the care of Hope Hospice. Cremainal Interment will take place at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.

She was born July 28, 1931 in Jefferson, to Chester Henry and Marian Martha (Bussler) Fleck.

Betty attended school in Wisconsin and Connecticut, and married Donald Kaat in August of 1985. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2013.

At the age of 15, Betty worked in the tobacco industry in Connecticut for a period of time. She then moved to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin where she worked at various jobs for a period of time. Betty then settled in Rib Lake where she worked at various local businesses. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking and she liked to dance.

Betty was past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Glastbury, Connecticut.

She is survived by children Bertha Goodale of Rib Lake and Mary-Ann (Fiancé: Greg Henze) Goodale of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren David & Steve Ingwell & Benjamin Goodale all of Fort Atkinson; siblings Chester (Rosemary) Fleck Jr. of Fort Atkinson & Shirley (Bill) Brandt of Janesville.

Betty is predeceased by her parents, Chester Henry Marian Martha (Bussler) Fleck; a son Frank E. Goodale Jr. on September 6, 2015; and sibling Janet Fleck in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Betty’s family to be designated at a later date.
