Hizer, Marie M. (25 October 1921 - 8 April 1990)

Marie M. (Mrs. Glenn) Hizer, 68, of 134 W. 3 rd St. Black River Falls died Sunday, April 8, 1990 in La Crosse Lutheran Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1921 in Lake Mills to Alfred and Lina (Troesch) Schulthess. She married Glenn C. Hizer in Hopkinsville, Kent. The couple lived in Rice Lake and Fairchild before settling in Black River Falls, in 1955.

Mrs. Hizer assisted in the operation of the family business, Hizer Salvage Yard of Black River Falls, for many years. She was a member of the Black River Falls united Methodist Church, the Good Sam Club and the Roving Retreads Club.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Lena (Leland) Evins and Anita (Hugo) Miller, both of Sparta, Sonja Hizer of Anchorage, Alaska and Suzanne (William) Lauscher of West Salem; four sons: Charles (Martha), Donald (Patsy), Samuel (Betty), all of Black River Falls, and Gale of Anchorage, Alaska; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters: Emma Kolstad of Pleasanton, Calif., Clara (Ralph) Drinken of Rice Lake and Helen (Rudolph) Punke of Edgar and two brothers: Adolph (Irene) Schulthess of Portland, Ore., and William Schulthess of Lakeland, Fla.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dale, one daughter, Carol, and a brother, John Schulthess.

Funeral services for Marie M. (Mrs. Glenn) Hizer will be Thursday, April 12, at 11 a.m. from the Black River Falls Methodist Church. The Rev. James Know will officiate and burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Charles Buswell Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Casket bearers will be Doug Hizer, Jim Hizer, Ken Fitzpatrick, Roger Taylor, Bill Lauscher and Hugo Miller.
