The Bible study club met last week Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Sue Volovsek.
The following participated: Mrs. Sue Volovsek, Mrs. Ron Volovsek, Mrs. Virginia
Volovsek, Mrs. Mary Ann Saule, Mrs. Jean Govek, and Mrs. Rose Pakiz. This week
they were to meet Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Mrs. Jean Govek as their hostess.
The card party last Sunday was held at the parish center. Committee members were
Roger Djubenski and Patrick Plautz. Nine tables of cards were played. Door prize
was awarded to John Scharenbrock; raffle prize went to Mrs. Bernice Volovsek; a
prize was awarded also at each table to the highest winner. A lunch was served.
Mrs. Anna Horvat visited last week with her daughter, Mrs. Wendell Ziegler, and
family in Neillsville.
Sarah Craig attended a 4-H club district leadership meeting in Altoona last
week.
A birthday party was held last Monday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Debevec honoring their daughter, Laurie on her 10th birthday. Present were: Lisa
Lindsley, Peggy Reuter, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Tytor and family and her family. The
birthday cake was made and decorated by her mother, Mrs. Robert Debevec. A lunch
was served and games were enjoyed.
The following were home from Eau Claire University last week for their spring
break: Carol Govek, Judy Seliskar, Patrice Pakiz and Edward Perko.
Christine Tolaney spent several days here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Tolaney, Jr., and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Tolaney of Stevens Point last Wednesday called on John Tolaney
in Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tolaney, Jr. and family and Mr. and Mrs.
John Scharenbrock.
Mr. and Mrs. John Scharenbrock called last week on Mrs. Josephine Cohara, Mrs.
Angela Auman, and Mr. Eli Bogdonovich in Memorial Home in Neillsville.
Spring came in more like a lion, as the temperatures fell to about 10 degrees
above zero and snow flurries were present.
Steve Plautz, Floyd Plautz and George Plautz attended a tractor and road
equipment demonstration at Tomahawk last several days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay spent a few days last week in Des Plaines, Aurora and
Mc Henry, Il., visiting friends and relatives.
