Hoesly, Baltz (29 April 1888 - 15 March1974)

A longtime county resident, Baltz Hoesly of Rt. 1 Granton, died March 15 at the Clark County Hospital, Owen, at the age of 86. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Brady officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hoesly was born April 29, 1888, in Green County. His marriage to the former Leona Kessler took place June 7, 1920, at Neillsville. The couple farmed in the Neillsville and Loyal areas and later moved to a farm in the Town of York. Mrs. Hoesly preceded her husband in death on August 24, 1969.

Surviving are two sons: Irvin Hoesly of Brookfield and Clarence Hoesly of Granton; two daughters: Mrs. Donald (Kathleen) Degenhardt of Antigo and Mrs. Wilbur (Virginia) Manning of Chicago, Il.; and 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Jacob Hoesly, and by a sister, Miss Ann Hoesly, both of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were Donald Degenhardt, Wilbur Manning, Craig Manning, Milford Rowe, Thomas Hoesly and Dean Hoesly.
