Ott, Ernest Fred (13 November 1894 - 14 March1974)
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral home for
a lifelong resident of Clark County, Ernest Fred Ott, 79, of Memorial Home, who
died March 14. The Rev. Charles D. Brady of St. Mary’s Catholic Church
officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Ernest Ott, the son of John and Sophia (Saas) Ott, was born November 13, 1894,
in Clark County, was educated in local schools, and farmed in the Town of Grant
until his retirement in 1967.
He entered military service July 26, 1918, at Neillsville and served in France
with the 342nd Inf. as a private first class. He was discharged at Camp Grant,
Il., on April 8, 1919. His marriage to the former Caroline Zigmund took place
June 6, 1925, in Neillsville. Mr. Ott was a member of Haugen-Richmond American
Legion Post No. 73.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a sister-in-law Marie Keller of
Neillsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Manfred Benduhn, Marvin Lueck, Ronald Henning, Keith Durham,
Wedell Ott and LaRay Norlin. Mrs. John Schiesel was the organist. Military rites
at the cemetery were conducted by American Legion Post No. 73, with DeWayne Dux
as bugler.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kipp and Mr. and Mrs. Manfred Benduhn, Milwaukee; Mrs. Karl
Hoebling, Chicago, Il.
