Clark Co. Historical Society (50 Years - 2015)
Congratulations to the Clark County Historical Society! It’s hard to believe
that it’s been 50 years. The Clark County Historical Society (CCHS) was founded
by Jess Scott in 1965. Nov. 7, 2015, at the fall meeting, the current membership
will honor the founding fathers and mothers of CCHS. During this meeting, a
letter written by Jess Scott, to be opened in 2015, will be read. How exciting!
Janet Seymour, Wisconsin Historical Society field service agent for the northern
region, will present information about involving young people in our local
history. Representatives will b present from the 1897 Clark County Jail Museum
and Sheriff’s Residence, the Stanley Area Historical Society, The Colby/Rural
Arts Museum, the Loyal Area Historical Society, Owen-Withee Friends of the Old
School, Greenwood, Granton, Spencer, Tufts’ Museum and Thorp.
The public is enthusiastically invited to join the potluck lunch at noon, the
speaker and meeting at 1 p.m. at the Thorp Public Library, 401 S. Conway Street,
in Thorp Saturday, Nov. 7. Come join them and see what’s going on.
