Andrew, Rosie (3 MAR 1926 – 15 OCT 2015)
Rosie Andrew, age 89, of Colby, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at
Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic
Church in Colby. Father Peter Manickam will officiate. Interment to follow in
St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 9:30 AM until
time of service Tuesday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in
Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Rosie was born on March 3, 1926, the daughter of Ferdinand and Eleanor (Greschner)
Wucherpfenig on the family farm in the Town of Frankfort. She graduated from
Colby High School in 1944. On June 23, 1945, Rosie was united in marriage to
Ralph A. Andrew at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Ralph and Rosie owned
and operated a dairy farm in the town of Hull from 1945-64. They moved to a
hobby farm on County Road N in 1964. She also worked at Hedler's Grocery Store
in Colby for 25 years.
Rosie was long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby, helped with
counting money, and was a member of the Christian Mothers. She also enjoyed
bowling and gardening.
Rosie is lovingly survived by her five children: Carol (Jim) Quall of Mount
Horeb; Dale (Donna) Andrew of Stratford; Daniel Andrew (Ruth Petersen) of
Loveland, CO; James Andrew of Dorchester; John (Angela) Andrew of Unity; a
daughter-in-law, Judi Andrew of Spencer; 11 grandchildren: Lisa, Lynn, Angel,
April, Tammy, Patrick, Rebecca, Jeff, Leslie, Melissa, and Amy-Lee; 20 great
grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by
three sisters-in-law: Donna Andrew of Cassville, Helen Deml of Naples, FL and
Evelyn Hemmy of Marshfield along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph on February 26,
2010; a son, Gerald in March of 1969, a daughter, Janice "Cookie" (Twin Sister
of James) in November of 1974; two brothers, Ben and Adam and a sister, Mary;
three brothers-in-law, Lloyd Andrew, Ray Deml and Bob Hemmy.
