Gardner, Clayton (28 DEC 1924 – 30 JUL 1970)
Clayton Gardner, 48, administrator at the Granton (Clark Co., Wis.) Public
School for the past eight years, died Friday morning of an apparent heart
attack.
Mr. Gardner was found in his car at the school where the attack is believed to
have taken place, and was rushed to Memorial Hospital at Neillsville where he
was pronounced dead on arrival.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 3 at the United Methodist Church in
Granton, with burial in Windfall Cemetery.
Mr. Gardner was born Dec. 28, 1924 at Linneus, Maine. He received his B.S.
Degree from the University of Main and master of Education Degree from the Wis.
State University – Superior.
Mr. Gardner was a 5 year veteran in the Air Force.
He was married to Dorothy Shane on Jan. 14, 1945 in London, England.
Mr. Gardner taught school for 5 years in Illinois, 5 years at Elcho, Wis. and 2
years at Coleman before coming to Granton.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Neillsville and the Granton Rotary Club.
Surviving are his wife, 3 sons, Douglas and twins, Gary and Gregory, at home, a
sister and three brothers.
