Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rakovec, Sr., of Marshfield visited last week with Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Rakovec, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pekol, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Rakovec and families.
Stanley Dade and son left Friday morning for Nebraska to visit a sister.
Mrs. Frank Koschak returned last week from Miami, Fla., where she got acquainted
with a new grandson.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pozego, Jr., and family moved last week from Spencer into
their home in the Town of Seif.
Carol Govek, Mrs. Ron Volovsek and Kyra and Mr. Frank Govek were in Marshfield
last week.
Carol Govek spent Wednesday night with Mr. and Mrs. John Govek in Medford.
On May 6 the PCCW ladies expect to go to the Diocesan convention at Viterbo
College in La Crosse.
Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Krainz and daughter, Ruth, were in Elm Grove to visit Mr.
and Mrs. Allen Harbort, Jr., and family last weekend.
Larry Krainz of Rice Lake spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Valentine Krainz.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Trepanier of Milwaukee spent last week with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Tony Prebil. Mrs. Trepanier is the former Kathy Prebil.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rakovec, Sr., of Marshfield, visited recently with Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Pekol, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brezonik of Elm Grove spent a week here.
Henry Dill of Evanston, Il., and Mrs. Lydia Dill of Greenwood were supper guests
Friday of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matkovich.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Plautz and Robert were supper guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Plautz and family. They helped their granddaughter, Cindy, celebrate her
birthday.
Mrs. Ella Reuter, Marengo, Il., and her nephew, Dennis Pribble of Sharon, spent
the weekend here with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reuter and family.
Susan Reuter has been dismissed from the hospital in Marshfield.
Thursday morning we were greeted by ice-coated trees, shrubs and the ground was
also coated with ice.
Mr. and Mrs. David Volovsek returned last Friday from the Hawaiian islands. They
made the trip by plane. They toured Pearl Harbor, Waikiki, the North End,
capitol city of Honolulu, the military burial grounds and viewed pineapple
fields and sugar cane fields. They stayed at the Waikiki Motel and soaked up a
lot of sunshine, all-in-all, Mrs. Volovsek reports an enjoyable trip.
Relatives, neighbors and friends were present at a miscellaneous bridal shower
last Thursday night at the parish center hall. Hostesses were: Audrey Gregorich,
Elaine Trybula, Nancy Hodnett and Elaine Grajkowski, the latter two of Thorp.
About 40 ladies were present besides the bride and groom-to-be, Randy Opelt and
Darlene Trybula. The prospective bride received a lot of presents which were
opened and, after displaying the gifts, a lunch was served and games were
played.
Stanley Suda and John Perme were on the committee for the card party held last
Sunday at the parish center. The door prize was awarded to Mrs. Dorthy Halbrader,
while the raffle prize went to Tony Gosar. Pinochle prizes went to Donna Gosar,
Mrs. Ron Volovsek, Valentine Krainz, and Carol Govek. Dirty clubs prizes were
awarded to Al Volovsek, John F. Trunkel, and John Perme. In sheepshead, Frank
Govek was the prize winner. A lunch was served after the games.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brezonik of Elm Grove have purchased the house located in the
Willard Village site formerly owned by the late Miss Rose Stamcar.
