Granton (4 April 1974)

The Rev. Wendell Bennett, who formerly served the York Center United Methodist Church, was honored last week with a card shower in observance of his 80th birthday. He received over 300 cards.

A communion service will be held Wednesday evening, April 10, at the York Center United Methodist Church. Good Friday services will be held there at 2:30 p.m.

The Royal Neighbors meeting which was scheduled last week was cancelled because of inclement weather. The next meeting will be held on the scheduled April date at the home of Mrs. Myrtie Davis.

Mrs. Pearle Holmes spent the weekend with her niece, Mrs. Otto Schmidtke, and returned Monday to the Norman Freedlund Home at Sherwood. Mrs. Freedlund is also her niece.

The Friendship Club is to meet Tuesday evening, April 9, with the Nyle Benedicts.

The Lucien Mohs visited with her mother, Mrs. Mabel Doehr, in Marshfield, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Henninger and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Porath of Marshfield were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Henninger.

York Sew and So Homemakers are to meet April 11 for a noon meal at the home of Mrs. Otto Schmidtke. Each member is to bring along an original design name tag.
