Johnson, Carol Ann (Marriage - 23 March 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Joseph Gumz, who were married March 23 at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Colby, by the Rev. Louis Dietrich, are making their home on Rt. 2 Colby,
where he is engaged in farming. The new Mrs. Gumz is the former Miss Carol Ann
Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorris Johnson, Coby. Her husband is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gumz, Rt. 1 Colby.
For her marriage, the bride chose a lace-trimmed traditional white gown
fashioned with an empire waistline, square neckline and long sleeves. She was
escorted to the altar by her father.
Linda Orlakowski, Rt. 1 Owen, was the honor attendant and Loretta Gumz, Rt. 1
Colby, the bridesmaid. Their empire waist gown featured long, puffed sleeves and
stand-up collars. Each carried a single, long-stemmed rose.
Andy Orlakowski, Rt. 1 Owen, served as best man and Richard Gumz, as groomsman.
Ushers were Jerry Gebert and SPS James C. Johnson. Carnation boutonnieres were
tinted to match the hues of their shirts.
The ringbearer was Dale Gumz, and the flower girl, Pammy Orlakowski.
A reception was held at the Trianon Ballroom.
The newlyweds are both graduates of Colby High School.
