Washburn (4 April 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams called on Francis Jacobson Wednesday in a
Marshfield hospital. They found he had broken bones in his back and is partially
paralyzed at present. They also called on Martin Reinart, brother of John
Reinart, who also is a patient there.
Mrs. Albert Lincoln will entertain the Washburn Homemakers club Wednesday, April
10, with dinner served at noon.
Mrs. Albert Zank of Cedar Falls, Ia., spent Thursday night with her brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams, and visited her mother, Mrs. Art
Williams, who is a patient at Neillsville Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Williams
didn’t get home Sunday as expected. She had a blood clot in her leg Friday
morning.
Mrs. Elmer Kapfer will entertain the Cannonville Ladies Aid Wednesday, April 17,
with dinner at noon.
Wendell Kuhn called on Mrs. Art Odell and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Elberts Wednesday
evening.
Dr. and Mrs. Ell (Skip) Lee and family of Green Bay spent the weekend with her
mother, Mrs. Harry Kissling. Mrs. Kissling, Dr. and Mrs. Lee and Family and Mr.
and Mrs. Michael Kissling were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Kissling.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Steinle of Winneconne spent last weekend with their son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Short. Mr and Mrs. Fred Steinle, Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Short and daughter, Kim, and Mrs. Frank Short, were supper guests
Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Short, in honor of Mrs. Short’s birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Melvin spent last weekend in Eau Claire visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brekke.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek attended the funeral of Mrs. Louie Matousek
Thursday in Neillsville.
Bible Study was held at the Lyle Cary home Thursday night. It will be held at
the Francis Jacobson home tonight (Thursday).
Mrs. Elmer Kapfer attended a senior citizens’ meeting and supper in Neillsville
Tuesday night.
Vicki Kissling, who attends college at Winona, Mn, spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kissling.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schultz and a couple of friends from Wind Lake spent the
weekend at their trailer home near the Dale Reinart home.
Mrs. Jim Faye and family of Marshfield and mother, Mrs. Barney Plummer, called
on Mrs. Art Odell and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Elberts Monday.
Lorraine Jean and Norma Lincoln and Mrs. Jerry Lincoln and son of Minneapolis,
spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Tannem and family of Minneapolis, also spent Saturday with her patents, Mr.
and Mrs. Lincoln. A pink and blue shower was given Saturday at the Lincoln home
honoring Mrs. Jerry Lincoln and son.
