Carl, LaVade Duan (6 FEB 1934 – 18 OCT 2015)
LaVade Duan Carl, 81, Nescopeck, Penn., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at
Berwick Retirement Village. A memorial service was held on Friday, Oct. 23, at
Living Hope Community Church, Nescopeck.
Born in rural Owen on Feb. 6, 1934, LaVade was the daughter of James A. and
Verona LaVade Wilma (nee Buzza Oberbillig) Smith. She grew up and attended
school in Loyal. After graduation, she moved to Pennsylvania and worked on her
cousin’s farm, then in sales for various retail companies. She was proud of her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was looking forward to the addition of
one more in December.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 47 years, Arden S. Carl; a
daughter, Lisa (Bruce) Kellerman, Weatherly, Penn.; four grandchildren, James
(Cathy) Kellerman, Gennesa (Todd) Lowry, Tonya Kellerman, and Jeremy Kellerman;
five great-grandchildren, Ariana, Evan, Coen, Harper and Arden; a sister, Joan
(Bud) Smith; Loyal, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Phillips, of Plymouth.
