Egstad, Gerald William (28 January 1948 - 23 October 2015)
Gerald Egstad, 67, of Granton died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at the Neillsville
Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Gerald William Egstad was born Jan. 28, 1948, in Beaver Dam and adopted by
Walter and Mary Egstad. He graduated from Granton High School in 1966 and then
enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the Vietnam War from August 1968 to
October 1969. When he returned home, he worked at various jobs as a laborer.
Oct. 14, 1972, he was united in marriage to Sandra Noah.
Jerry was very active and loved hunting and fishing until he couldn’t
participate anymore.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two daughters, Lisa (Jim) Bryan of
Neillsville and Rebecca Egstad of Granton; grandchildren: Jeff (Dixie) Berres,
their son, Bryce, and a baby girl due Nov. 24, 2015, all of Oshkosh, Brigette
(Paul) Starkey of East Liverpool, OH, Katie Bryan of Oshkosh and Jimmy Bryan of
Neillsville. Jerry is also survived by his siblings: Pat Mike, Jim, Rick, Mary
and Linda.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Walter and Mary Egstad, and
Walter’s first wife, Lois; a daughter, Barbara; foster parents, Mike and Martha
Krause; and foster sister Laura Ver Hagen.
A Memorial Service for Jerry will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran
Church in Granton. Pastor Daniel Schoessow will officiate. Interment will be in
the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday and from 2 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church.
