Roberts, Frank J. (27 APR 1926 - 22 OCT 2015)

Frank J. Roberts, age 89, passed away Thursday, October 22 at his residence in the City of Medford under the loving care of his family and Hope Hospice.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 31 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford where there will also be military rites performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Rev. James Krueger will officiate.

Frank was born on April 27, 1926 at Jump River, WI, to Charles and Mary (Domer) Roberts.

He attended Jump River elementary schools. Frank was married to Joanne O'Brien, in 1947, they were later divorced. He then married Alice Ann Dassow, on August 17, 1968, she survives.

After his education, he entered the US Navy, veteran of WW II serving from 1944 -1948.
After the service, he returned to Medford and worked for the railroad for a period of time. Then he moved to Kansas City, MO, worked and resided there for a period of time. In 1957 he moved to the Town of Browning where he farmed for many years. While farming he worked at Hurd Millwork in Medford for a period of years. He later owned & operated his own trucking company transporting for Weather Shield Manufacturing of Medford until his retirement in 1988. In retirement, he operated the Mondeaux Dam concession area for 6 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood working & spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Frank was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford and the Medford V.F.W. Club.

He is survived by his wife, Alice A. Roberts of Medford; children Michael (Susie) Roberts of Georgetown, Texas, Linda Kenny of Chisago City, MN, Judy Roberts of Madison, Debra (Robert) Yeager of Medford, Joan Groves of Medford, Trudy (Tom) Hobl of Medford, Cindy Messman of Medford, Judy (Rick) Swisher of Blaine, MN, Lori (James) Zak of Stetsonville; 25 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Knipshield of Florida.

Frank is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mary (Domer) Roberts; siblings Jennie Zenker Langteau, Pearl O'Brien, Verna Smith, Eleanor Smith, Edna Perrine; George and Thomas Roberts; grandchild Craig Seymour; great-granddaughter, Cassie Kuker.

He is further survived by 2 special friends – Jean Heier & Kim Probst.
