Barbara Bell accompanied her grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Bell, to a performance of
the Ice Follies Sunday in Minneapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meihak spent the weekend in Fort Atkinson and attended the
confirmation of their grandson, Daniel Meihak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meihak,
Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Meihak and family also spent the weekend there and
attended the confirmation.
A double confirmation dinner at the American Legion Hall honored Howard Marg,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Marg, and Bradley Marg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
Marg, who were confirmed Palm Sunday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Marg and sons, Kenneth, Bradley and
Steven, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Marg and son, Howard, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Marg and
son, Jeff, Mrs. Jim Ehlers and son, Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Marg, Mr. and Mrs.
Roger Helm and daughters, Debbie, Sandy, Lisa and Donna, of Granton, Mrs.
Lillian Marg, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Tews and children, Linda, Scott, Mark and Paul,
Mrs. Helen Tews, Mrs. Glenn Suchow and daughter, Lynn, Mr. and Mrs. Soren
Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schultz, Timmy and Tammy, Miss Karalee Schultz of
Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Dunlap and son, Todd, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale
Haunschild and son of Hudson.
Friday overnight guests of Linda Bell for a post-birthday slumber party were
Janell Quast, Janet Knoop, Lisa Potter and Cindy Zickert.
Candlelight Homemakers are to meet Monday evening, April 15, at the home of Mrs.
Frederick Kieser.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lavene and Mrs. Hattie Forman drove to Marshfield Thursday
morning to see their cousin, George Greeler, who is a patient at St. Joseph’s
Hospital. They also visited with Frank Luck, a former Town of York neighbor, who
is presently hospitalized there.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Simenson, Marilee, Lisa and Tim and Mrs. Marie Keller attended
the confirmation of Linda Pankau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pankau, in
Oshkosh Palm Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Pischer entertained at their home Palm Sunday in honor of
the confirmation of their daughter, Carolyn, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran
Church. Guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Marg, Mrs. Anna Pischer, Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Lautenbach and Dianne, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Keuer, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Marg,
David, Danny, Sherie and Melissa, Mrs. Helen Garbisch, Elsie and John, Mr and
Mrs. Fritz Garbisch, Randy, Brenda and Shelly, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Bartsch,
Rhonda, Russell and Ronnie, all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Roman, Athens;
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Romang, Andy, Sam, Tim and Billy Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Felser and Mrs. Lebrecht Kalsow, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Lautenbach,
Sauk City, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lautenbach, Rhinelander; Mrs. Erland Marg, Vickie,

Hyslop, Pewaukee. Highlighting the day was a telephone call from Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Pischer and Jason of San Rafael, Ca.
Mrs. Hattie Forman spent Friday evening with Lydia Hinz.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wren, who spent a month with their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ellsworth Bollom and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wren, have moved to Eau Claire where
he is employed.
Mr. and Mrs. Kier Cline and children of Evanston, Il., visited from last
Wednesday until Sunday morning with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Feuerstein. On Saturday,
Mr. and Mrs. John Negaard and son, Jackie, of Stevens Point visited at the
Feuerstein home. Mrs. Negaard and Jackie remained until Wednesday.
A confirmation dinner and supper held Sunday at the Kenneth Goetz home honored
Bradley Goetz and Marilyn Schoenherr, members of the confirmation class at St.
John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Knoop, Romie
Goetz, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Knoop and family, Mrs. Adeline Schoenherr and family,
Ottillie Kunkel and Ted Schoenherr, all of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Spiegel and family, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swanson and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
Swanson, Scott and Kelly, La Crosse; and Nela Stacy, Eau Claire. Marilyn’s
sponsors were Jean Goetz and Melvin Swanson, and Bradley’s sponsors were Mr. and
Mrs. Ervin Knoop.
Mr and Mrs. Alvin Lavene and Mrs. Hattie Forman spent a couple days last week in
Dodge County where they attended funeral services for a cousin at Oconomowoc and
also called on relatives there and at Hartford.
