Miss Carol Wozniak of route 2, Athens, and Douglas Koffarnus of route 1, Owen
(Clark Co., Wis.), were married in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday, Jan. 6, 1968,
at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Athens, with the Rev. ralph Geissler
officiating.
Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. George Wozniak of route 2, Athens,
and Mr. and Mrs. William Koffarnus of route 1, Owen.
Witnesses were Miss Donna Koffarnus, route 1, Owen, sister of the groom, who was
maid of honor, and Bob Hartl, Marshfield, a friend of the groom, the best man.
Other attendants were Mrs. Harvey Bornheimer, Athens, cousin of the bride, and
Harvey Bornheimer of Athens.
The bride designed and made her own wedding dress, a satin brocade gown
featuring elbow length sleeves, scoop neckline, empire waist and an A-line floor
length skirt. An open pillbox of white satin brocade held her ballerina length
veil. She carried a cascade arrangement of white poinsettias and greens, and red
velvet ribbon.
The attendants were attired in identical floor-length gowns, featuring red
velvet empire bodices, elbow length sleeves, scoop necklines and winter white
skirts of chiffon over taffeta. A satin band around the waist ended in a bow and
streamers at the back. Rolled rose petals and floral sprays held their veils of
taffeta organza. Each carried a red poinsettia and ivy cascade bouquet.
Following the ceremony were a reception and dinner at the Trianon Ballroom. The
guest book was circulated by Miss Bonnie Wozniak, and Mrs. William Raun and Miss
Susan Dunkel were in charge of gifts.
The bride had been employed as a beautician at Milady Beauty Shop at Wausau, and
the groom is employed at Berg Manufacturing Co. at Marshfield.
Guests attending the wedding came from Athens, Wausau, Summit Lake, Colby, Owen,
Abbotsford, Sun Prairie, Spencer, Rothschild, Brookfield, Marathon, Tomahawk,
Dorchester, Milwaukee, Marshfield, Curtiss, Salem, Withee, Schofield, Racine and
Beloit.
