Scidmore, Ella (13 JAN 1885 – 26 JAN 1885)

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 28, for Ella Scidmore, 83, Colby, who died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 1968, following a stroke.

The services were held at First United Church of Christ at Colby at 2 p.m. The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated and burial was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the services.

The former Ella Funk was born at Janesville Jan. 13, 1885. Her marriage to Abner Scidmore, who died in March 1965, took place June 22, 1905, at Janesville..

The couple lived at Janesville until 1918, when they moved to rural Dorchester, where they operated a farm until 1949, when they moved to Colby.

Mrs. Scidmore was a member of the United Church of Christ, and the Women's Guild.

Surviving are four sons, Henry Scidmore of Ogletree, Minn., Fred Scidmore, Colby, Robert Scidmore, Curtiss, and Herbert Scidmore of Marshfield, and five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Blekre, Minneapolis, Mrs. Hal (Catherine) Gilbertson, Alhambra, Calif., Mrs. Don (Gertrude) Schreiber of Stoughton, Mrs. Cliff (Ruth) Lindboe of Palatine, Ill., and Mrs. Vern (Evelyn) Sauter, Marshfield.

There are 37 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Ten brothers preceded her in death.
