Jackson, Otto (14 FEB 1909 – 1 FEB 1968)
Otto Jackson, 59, Abbotsford, died Thursday at 1:50 p.m. at the Veterans
Administration at Madison. He was taken there the previous Tuesday by ambulance.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Polnaszek
Funeral Home, Abbotsford. The Rev. F.H. Sprengler conducted the services, during
which Mrs. Eugene Strathman was organist.
Military rites under the auspices of the American Legion Hansen-Terrio Post No.
139 of Abbotsford were held at the Abbotsford Cemetery, where interment was
made.
The pallbearers were Kenneth Anderson, Clarence Dolan, Dr. Arthur Fults, Robert
Goldamer, Neal Melvin and George Greaser.
Otto Jackson was born Feb. 14, 1909, at Abbotsford, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter C. Jackson, now deceased. He received his education in the Abbotsford
schools and was graduated from Abbotsford High School. He was a veteran of World
War II, having served in the infantry. For more than 20 years he was employed by
the White House Milk Co. at Abbotsford and retired because of ill health. He was
in and out of the hospital for the past five years.
He made his home in Abbotsford until about two years ago, when he took up
residence at the Colby Hotel.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Frances) Casperson and Mrs. Maurice
(Catherine) Olson, both of Neenah.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Miles.
Among the relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Casperson and Mr. and Mrs. William Olson of Neenah, Mr. and Mrs. Phil
Grode of Menasha, Mr. and Mrs. William Schief of Medford, Mrs. Leona Bahr and
Mrs. Catherine Bahr of Wausau, Mrs. Helen Broeren of Merrill, Miss Bonnie Melvin
of Eau Claire, Mrs. Herman Cornelius and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer (Duke) Cornelius of
Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Greaser of Amherst, Al Notbohm of Chelsea, and
friends from Curtiss, Dorchester, Unity, Colby, Abbotsford and vicinity.
