Williams, Mynell "Jean" (Johnson) (11 APR 1935 - 4 NOV 2015)
Jean Williams, 80, Pulaski, formerly of Green Bay, passed to her eternal rest on
November 4, 2015. Born on April 11, 1935, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she is the
daughter of the late Richard and Pearl (Stanley) Johnson.
Jean attended Green Bay West High School. On June 14, 1952, she married Richard
H. Williams, Jr., and they divorced in December 1976.
While raising her children, Jean served as a Brownie Troop Leader, and was also
active in the PTA and at the school library. She also worked in the nursery at
St. Mary's Hospital, as a CNA in the med-surge unit at St. Vincent Hospital, and
Library Assistant and AV Tech until her retirement in 2001. Jean belonged to the
VASA Lodge #754 and was the historian for four years.
Jean enjoyed bowling, golfing, and cross-country skiing. After retirement she
kept busy baking, knitting, crocheting, and researching genealogy history for
her family. For the last five years she knitted 100 hats each year and donated
them to the Coats for Kids program.
Jean is survived by seven children, Georga Humphreys, Cynthia (Pat) Roberts,
Rick (Doreen) Williams, Terry Williams, Wendy (Jim) Delvoye, Corrie (Crystal)
Williams, and Lonnie (Peggy) Williams; one sister, Valrie Plog; 17
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
According to Jean's wishes there will be no formal funeral services. Simply
Cremation assisted the family with cremation, 431-0100.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Unity Hospice for the
compassionate care and guidance that they provided to the family during Jean's
final journey. They would also like to thank her wonderful neighbors these past
four years, for their love and friendship.
