Christ Lutheran Church (New Pastor - 1974)
The installation of the Rev. Everett Schleef as pastor of Christ Lutheran
Church, Chili, and Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, will be conducted Sunday,
April 28. Rev. Schleef will succeed the Rev. Roland Roehrs as pastor of the two
congregations.
Dr. Lloyd Goetz, president of the north Wisconsin District of the Lutheran
Church - Missouri Synod will perform the rite to installation and also preach
the sermon. The Rev. Richard j. Muehl, who has served as vacancy pastor since
the end of November, will be in charge of the service. Pastors of the Marshfield
and Wisconsin Rapids area have also been invited to participate in the services.
The service at Christ, Chili will be at 2:30 p.m. There will be a fellowship
supper after the service.
The service at Zion, Granton, will be at 8 p.m. This service will be followed by
a fellowship potluck lunch.
There will be no morning service at the churches.
Pastor Schleef comes to the Chili - Granton parish from Aurora, Mn, where he
served Redeemer Lutheran Church since his ordination into the ministry of the
Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod in 1968. Pastor and Mrs. Schleef have four
children: Rochelle, Anthony, Nicole and Joel. The family will reside in the
parsonage at Granton.
