Neillsville American Legion Post 73 was buzzing with activity Nov. 2, 2015.

Veterans Edward Henchen, Frederick Grap Jr., and Norman Poppe were honored for their military service, and the Ladies Auxiliary present Ardith Poppe with a certificate of appreciation for her many years of volunteering.

Post Service Officer Jim Myers said he could be contacted with the information about a Legion member being in need of any kind. He said there are benefits available. Myers works closely with the Clark County Veterans Service Officer.

A gas card was presented to a member for reimbursement of traveling expenses to appointments.

The Legion currently has 170 members. The goal is 100 percent for the upcoming year (216 Members). Those who have not paid their dues are asked to do so before Dec. 31.

A review of Veterans Day activities was held. Veterans Day programs will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 10, as the Neillsville and Granton High Schools have a late start day Wednesday, Nov. 11.

It was decided not to have a meeting in December. The Legion and Ladies auxiliary will gather Monday. Jan. 4, 2016, with a Christmas Party, white elephant gift exchange and potluck meal at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will follow at 7 p.m.
