Brunner, William (29 APR 1893 – 13 FEB 1968)
William Brunner of Woodruff, formerly of rural Abbotsford, died at his home at
Little Gresham Lake early Tuesday morning. He was 74 years old.
The body will be brought today, Feb. 15, from the Bolger Funeral Home in
Minocqua to the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, and will lie in state there until
the time of services Friday afternoon at 1:30. The Rev. Clifford Kessen of
Boulder Junction will officiate and burial will be made in the Abbotsford
Cemetery.
Mr. Brunner was born April 29, 1893, at South Milwaukee, and when a small child,
his parents came to a farm in the town of Johnson. On Nov. 15, 1915, he and Meta
Kallien were married in the town of Johnson.
They moved to a farm three and one-half miles east of Abbotsford, where they
lived for 30 years. Mr. Brunner was a taxidermist in addition to farming.
Twenty-two years ago they began operating a resort at Little Gresham Lake at
Woodruff.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Wilfred Brunner, Medford PSR, and two
daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Evelyn) Bargenquast, Abbotsford, and Mrs. William
(Delores) Hartwig of Milwaukee. There are eight grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
He also leaves four sisters, Mrs. George (Kate) Sterling of California, Mrs.
Bertha Roberts of Waukesha, Mrs. Carol (Lillie) Presitn of Dresser, Minn., and
Mrs. Sadie Koehn of Minneapolis.
