Greisch, Jerome “Jerry” P. (29 AUG 1929 - 10 SEP 2015)
Jerome “Jerry” P. Greisch, 86, joined his heavenly father and family in Heaven
in the early morning of Sept. 10, 2015.
He was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Medford to the late Cleatus and Lydia (Zimmerman)
Greisch.
Jerry was a Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Army. When Jerry
came home he worked odd jobs until becoming a rural mail carrier. Doing this for
many, many years, Jerry got to know the many people on his route. He grew up
without a father in his younger years, cared for his mother and brother during
their sick years, and was devoted to his family, friends and church.
Jerry very much enjoyed watching the neighborhood children grow to become adults
and have families of their own and he often reflected back on those years with a
smile. Jerry enjoyed traveling throughout his adult life and, during his
retirement, spending many hours outdoors doing yard work with his beloved dog.
He enjoyed sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, the Badgers and his
hometown team, the Edgar Wildcats. If he could not watch the games on TV, he
listened to the games on the radio.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack; aunts, uncles
and many cousins.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at St.
John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler presided. Burial was in the
parish cemetery where full military honors were conducted by the Veterans of
Foreign Wars, Edgar, and the American Legion, Edgar.
Friends called Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church.
A special thanks to Randy, Nancy, Carol and Andy for the many years of
friendship and helping out. Also thanks to Tami for the loving care she provided
and thanks to Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center and Aspirus Comfort Care
and Hospice Services for everything they did for Jerry during his final days.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, was in charge of arrangements. Online
condolences may be expressed at
