Reinhardt, John Edward (24 JUN 1918 - 2 NOV 2015)
John Edward Reinhardt, 97, Medford, died Nov. 2 at Deerview Assisted Living in
Medford.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at Woodland Community
Church in Westboro with Rev. Len Robinson officiating. Interment of his cremated
remains will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake at a later date.
Visitation took place from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Nov. 6 at the
church.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with
arrangements.
John E. Reinhardt was born on June 24, 1918 in Rib Lake to John and Caroline (Pahorski)
Reinhardt.
He graduated from Rib Lake High School. He was married to Mae Anderson, whom
preceded him in death, and married to Inez Vanucha, whom also preceded him in
death.
John served in the United States Air Force as an engine mechanic and flight line
crew chief on bomber aircraft during World War II, serving in the Europe and
African theaters. Following his military career, he then worked for Weather
Shield in their specialty department. John attended Woodland Community Church in
Westboro. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He will be
remembered by his practicality in all situations, giving him the nick name
“Practical John.”
He is survived by a stepson, Marvin (Milca) Anderson of Ayacucho, Peru;
siblings, Gerald (Rita) Reinhardt of Rib Lake, Dorothy Koch of Wisconsin Rapids,
and Irene Vlach of Marshfield. He is further survived by several grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Marie
Hall and Marcie Durand.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of John may be made to Woodland
Community Church.
