Globe & Christie Lutheran Churches (New Pastor - 1974)

Two area churches will install their new pastor this Sunday, April 28. The Rev. Ralph O. Stuebs will become pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe, in a 2 p.m. service and of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Christie, in an 8 p.m. service.

The Rev. Gerhardt Lambrecht of Marshfield, who has been serving the congregations as vacancy pastor, will conduct the services. The Rev. Rudolf Otto of Marathon, an uncle of Pastor Stuebs, will deliver the sermon in each service.

All friends and former members of the congregations are invited to attend these services. Following each service there will be a reception giving all an opportunity to meet and welcome Pastor Stuebs and his family.

The new pastor is a native of Kewaunee. He attended schools in that area until he decided to enter the ministry. He began his preparations by enrolling in the preparatory department of Northwestern College, Watertown, for his high school. Upon completing his seminary training he graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1971 and assumed the pastorate of a dual parish at Belview and Seaforth, Mn, that same year. Pastor Stuebs remained at this charge until he accepted the call to serve Immanuel and St. John’s churches where he succeeds t he Rev. Bitter.

Pastor Stuebs was married in June 1971 to the former Joan Ulrey of Chicago, Il. They have two children, Kent, age 2, and Kevin, age 1. Pastor Stuebs and his family have moved into the parsonage at Globe on Route 3, Neillsville.
