Witt, Julius T. (12 JUL 1919 – 28 FEB 1968)

Julius T. Witt, 48, of Abbotsford, died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1968 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was a patient there since Feb. 16.

The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, until noon Saturday, when it was taken to Christ Lutheran Church. During the 2 o'clock services conducted by Rev. F.H. Sprengler, Ronald Boss was organist and accompanist for Mrs. James Daellenbach who sang "Eternal Father, Strong to Save" and "Be Still, My Soul."

The pallbearers for the interment, which was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery, were Darrel Bobbe, Emil Daellenbach, Ernest Boss, Paul Degenhardt, Robert Mueller and Don Wittkamp.

Mr. Witt was born July 12, 1919, in the town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.) and received his education there. He worked with his father, Alex Witt, as a cheesemaker until 1940, when the family moved to Abbotsford.

They started an auto wrecking business which they operated together until the father died in 1945.

In 1946, Julius Witt and his brother-in-law, Val Wojner, formed a partnership for the operation of the Abbotsford Auto Company.

His marriage to Marjorie Mildbrand took place in Dorchester June 9, 1951. They made their home in Abbotsford.

Mr. Witt was a member of Christ Lutheran congregation.

He is survived by his wife and four children, David, Donald, Shirley and Janice, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Leonora Witt, Abbotsford, and three sisters: Mrs. Val (Alice) Wojner, Abbotsford, Mrs. Joseph (Dois) Nidy, Milwaukee, and Mrs. William (Frieda) Kolczycki, , Millstone, N.J.

Relatives and friends who came for the funeral were from New Jersey, South Bend, Ind., Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee, Kenosha, Pewaukee, Fox Lake, Ladysmith, Ingram, Tripoli, Medford, Owen, Curtiss, Loyal, Wausau, Milan, Dorchester, Colby, Abbotsford and vicinity.
