Kohler, Sharon Margaret (3 December 1939 - 8 November 2015)

Sharon M. Kohler, 75, of Granton died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

Sharon Margaret Jehnke was born Dec. 3, 1939, in Elmhurst, IL, the daughter of Earl and Emma (Krimmelmeyer) Jehnke. She graduated from Glenbard West high School. She was united in marriage to Albert Kohler June 7, 1958, at Grace Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn, IL. They raised their family and spent most of their lives in Glen Ellyn, where Sharon worked as a clerk in several different stores, including the dime store and Ben Franklin. In 2001, they moved to the Granton area. Sharon worked at Pamida in Neillsville for 10 years and also loved to work at Kandy Girl in Marshfield. Sharon also love to go shopping, baking, playing guitar, listening to Willie Nelson and spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Lady. She will be remembered for her crazy fun contagious spirit.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Roger (Christina) Kohler of Boyd, Barbara (Patrick) Opelt of Greenwood, Julie (Leroy) Drost of Nekoosa and Sheryl (Omar) Young of Granton; 14 grandchildren: Jessica, Eric, Travis, Melyssa, Jennifer, Ashley, Angela, Jenny, Amber, Gina, Troy, Ceasar, Kennedy and Liberty; and nine great-grandchildren: Brent, Peyton, Avery, Maddy, Joe, Serene, Dominic, Skylar and Renesmee. She is further survived by a brother, Roger Jehnke of Eagle River. She will also be missed by her “Golden Girls,” Jeanne Steimke, Cynthia Simpson and Sharon Tollefson.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Albert Kohler Jr.; a grandson, Seth Sellner; a son-in-law, David Kowal; a brother, Sonny; a sister, Lorraine; and a sister-in-law, Marian Jehnke.

Sharon’s family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care given to their mother during her illness. Special thanks to Dr. Maria Cruz-Apolonario and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
