Schmidt, Harold (24 APR 1908 – 2 FEB 1957)
Harold E. Schmidt, 28, Suring, Wis., passed away at the Wisconsin General
Hospital in Madison on Feb. 2, 1957. Death followed a short illness.
Mrs. Schmit was born Apr 24, 1908 at Green Valley, Wis. He had been a resident
of Suring for 47 years. After his father's death he assumed operation of the
tavern. He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S.
Navy during World War II and was a member of the Suring American Legion Post.
The body was taken to the Soulek Funeral Home at Suring, where it lay in state.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Mount Olive Lutheran
Church, with Rev. F.C. Beneke officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille (Behrens), one daughter, Sally Ann, at home, and
his mother, Mrs. Frank Schmit of Suring
