The Whitewater State College Chapter of the National Future Business Leaders of
America were formally installed in a ceremony which was held on Monday, March
18, 1957, at 8:00 p.m. in the college auditorium.
Ray Rupple, Waukesha, state FBLA advisor, conducted the installation ceremony
with the assistance of past state officers. Following the installation, Miss
Clarice Kline, past president of the Wis. Education Association and a teacher at
Waukesha High School, spoke on "Roud to Teach." A reception followed the
program.
The group, which was formerly known as the Commercial Club, voted to unite with
the national FBLA in a meeting last October. FBLA is sponsored by the Business
Education Association, a department of the National Education Association. The
purpose of FBLA is to develop competent, aggressive business leadership by
active participation in business projects in the home and the community.
The Whitewater chapter has a membership of 289. Officers are Jack Filipiak,
Milwaukee, President; Darlene Horn, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), vice president;
Sylvia Felland, Ladysmith, secretary; David Hanson, Oshkosh, treasurer; and
Vicki Kunst, Birnamwood, publicity chairman. Advisor of the group is Henry C.
Collins, a member of the business education faculty.
