Sischo, Richard Ernest Jr. ‘Buck’ (24 April 1955 - 22 November 2015) With Flag
Richard “Buck” Sischo, 60, of Neillsville died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at St.
Mary’s hospital in Rochester, MN.
Richard Ernest Sischo was born April 24, 1955, in Neillsville, the son of
Richard and Lillian (Castner) Sischo Sr. he was a Vietnam-era veteran, serving
in the United States Army from 1973 to1976. When he returned, he moved to
Colorado and worked as a deputy sheriff for Chaffee County. He also worked as a
miner at Climax Mine, as a ski-lift operator at Monarch, CO, and as a head
boatman for River Runners Rafting in Buena Vista, CO. He was united in marriage
to Alice Psota Oct. 20, 1990 in Buena Vista, CO. Six months later, they moved to
Neillsville and Buck begin his career of operating heavy equipment. He spent 20
years as the Town of Weston patrolman/heavy equipment operator until his health
forced him to retire in 2011.
Buck loved being outdoors, and he lived life to the fullest. Instead of just
skiing and snowmobiling on the weekends, he entered races and won trophies. He
was an expert marksman and shot trap for the wildcat Inn for many years and won
many awards. He loved his many cats there were always coming and going from his
home. Buck’s best quality, though, was that he was a devoted family man. He was
always there for his family in good times and in bad, and he would drop what he
was doing in an instant to help his family out.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; six brothers, Randy (Tammy), Ricky (Tracy),
Ronnie “Road Toad”, Bruce, Jeff “Smiley” (Kristy) and Steve, all of Neillsville;
his mother, Lillie Sischo of Neillsville; five sisters, Monica (John) Pagenkopf,
Barbara (Ellis) Walker, Linda (David) Wiebel, Sandy (Paul) Schmidt and Karen
Fleischmann, all of Neillsville; two daughters: Kristin Eagleton-Holm and Amanda
Eggleston, both of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
Buck was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sischo Sr. and a
brother-in-law, Curt Fleischmann.
Funeral services for Buck will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at
the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with visitation one hour prior to the
service. Pastor Jacoba Koppert will officiate. Interment will be in the Marie
Louis Chapel Cemetery in the Town of Weston, with military honors performed by
the Neillsville Veteran’s Council. Visitation was also held from 5 p.m. to 8
p.m. Tuesday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
Casketbearers are his brothers, Randy, Ronnie “Road Toad”, Rick, Jeff “Smiley”,
Bruce and Steve.
